It’s been another productive week at the Department of Government Efficiency. Since Elon Musk got to work slashing waste from the federal budget, taxpayers have already saved billions of dollars. Here are DOGE’s five biggest wins of the week:
- DOGE eliminated the lease contracts of 22 office buildings that were essentially not being used or operated fully, saving taxpayers nearly $45 Million.
- DOGE cut more than $1.2 Billion worth of DEI contracts across 30 different federal agencies.
- DOGE cut 20 consulting contracts for “executive coaching” and “strategic communication” positions that cost more than $26 Million.
- DOGE is spearheading the charge to significantly reduce USAID which was recently responsible for spending $20 Million to produce an Arabic-language version of Sesame Street in Iraq and $27 Million in reintegration gift bags for deportees all over the world.
- DOGE helped the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation reorganize their water systems in Southern California which provided critical relief to victims affected by the wildfires.
Musk and DOGE have bold plans to cut up to $1 Trillion in waste from the federal budget. While there’s still a lot of work to do, the progress made so far is nothing short of revolutionary.
