Recently, Vice President J.D. Vance spoke at the Munich Security Conference to lay out the Trump administration's vision for the future of AI and how the administration plans to reshape its priorities on European defense.
But perhaps the most important part of Vance’s message was when he slammed European leaders for abandoning the democratic values the Western world was founded upon.
Britain, Germany, Sweden, and others have implemented totalitarian crackdowns on free speech - arresting citizens for posting “offensive” memes on social media or peacefully protesting in the streets.
And a handful of other European countries have banned “fringe-right” or “fringe-left” leaders from national elections based on the feelings of government bureaucrats.
Vance’s message was simple: If the United States is going to continue to pay for the majority of Europe’s defense, they must start upholding the Western values of free speech and individual liberty.
