Anti-police rhetoric is on the rise, and that’s causing a disturbing rise in violence against law enforcement officers.
In response, House Republicans are voting on a bill to help combat the surge in anti-police behavior by forcing the Attorney General to collect and publish detailed data on traffic stops, searches, and arrests so state and local law enforcement agencies have as much information as when dealing with suspects in the line of duty.
If advanced, the bill would also issue fines or deny funding to agencies that don’t keep track and regularly publish the data.
