Demand Better Mental Health Access!

Did you know over 2 million Pennsylvanians live in areas without adequate mental health support? What’s worse is that the behavioral health system we have in place isn’t working: 65% of students in our state report needing professional mental health care but are too scared to ask for it.

We know that the consequences of ignoring behavioral health problems can be tragic. In fact, most people who die by suicide have a diagnosable mental disorder. That’s why we know that better behavioral health saves lives.

The behavioral health crisis we witness around us is evidence that something is terribly wrong with how behavioral health is being managed in Chester County. Fortunately, Chester County Commissioners can make a change.

Please sign the form, and we will send this letter to your Chester County Commissioners on your behalf. Thank you for your help in helping improve behavioral health care in Pennsylvania.

Dear [County Commissioner],

I urge you to immediately re-evaluate the current behavioral health managed care organization in Chester County, Pennsylvania. A simple review of who is managing these benefits for the Medicaid population could have the potential of improving the behavioral health support for Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable members.

Millions of Pennsylvanians are lacking adequate mental health support – especially the Medicaid population. Moreover, 65% of students in our state report needing professional mental health care - sadly, too many are too scared to ask for it. We need a better team managing these benefits for Chester County to ensure everyone has access to the care they deserve.

The time is NOW to ensure access to quality care. Please immediately review and re-evaluate the behavioral health care managed care organization in Chester County, so we can end the senseless, tragic consequences of inadequate care.
