Every day, ICE agents carry out essential duties to protect public safety and enforce federal law. But in recent months, violent attacks, doxing, and intimidation have surged β and too often, no serious consequences follow.
In Dallas, a sniper opened fire on an ICE transport van, wounding three detainees and killing one. Arson, threats, and online campaigns to expose ICE officer identities have also become fear tactics used against those doing the job.
In response, we demand federal legislation to make it a serious criminal offense for anyone to:
- Interfere, obstruct, or assault ICE agents while performing their duties
- Publish or distribute personal identifying information (doxing) of ICE agents
- Coordinate or assist in acts of intimidation, violence, or harassment specifically against ICE personnel
Such a law would restore deterrence, respect the rule of law, and ensure those who shield or threaten law enforcement face real accountability.
This is not about silencing criticism of immigration policy. Itβs about defending the safety and dignity of agents who risk their lives to protect our country.
