In 1776, our founding fathers, suffering under the tyranny of the British Empire signed their names to a “radical” idea: that all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.
Two hundred and fifty years later that idea has created the most free and powerful country the world has ever seen. From sea to shining sea, freedom is ringing and the next 250 years of this country start here.
Following the 1778 Constitutional Convention, a woman asked Benjamin Franklin, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” To which he responded, “A republic, if you can keep it.” America is not just something we inherited, it’s a nation that each generation of Americans has safeguarded and built upon. If this Republic will survive for 250 more years, we need to ensure that future generations keep this Great American Experiment alive.
On this year, America’s Semiquincentennial, we’re calling on all Patriots to pledge themselves not just to the America of today, but to the America of tomorrow as well. Will you sign the pledge below and commit yourself to safeguarding our great Republic for generations to come?
The Pledge:
"I [Your Name] pledge to uphold liberty and justice, serve my community, educate our next generation and to help keep the American Republic thriving for the next 250 years."
