Punchbowl News reported that during the House Republican leadership’s weekly meeting on Monday, Speaker Mike Johnson and his aides emphasized one crucial point: he plans to appoint serious lawmakers, not headline chasers, to the commission investigating the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

Speaker Johnson announced a vote to create this panel and it passed 416-0... this means ZERO no votes!

Additionally, Representative Nancy Mace was spearheading efforts to impeach Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, before she resigned Tuesday morning, due to the security lapses leading up to the Trump campaign rally and her poor performance in front of the House Oversight Committee. During the hearing, Cheatle struggled to answer questions about how someone managed to come within inches of killing a presidential candidate.
